The present paper, though inspired by the use of tensor hierarchies in theoretical physics, establishes their mathematical credentials, especially as genetically related to Lie algebra crossed modules. Gauging procedures in supergravity rely on a pairing – the embedding tensor – between a Leibniz algebra and a Lie algebra. Two such algebras, together with their embedding tensor, form a triple called a Lie-Leibniz triple, of which Lie algebra crossed modules are particular cases. This paper is devoted to showing that any Lie-Leibniz triple induces a differential graded Lie algebra – its associated tensor hierarchy – whose restriction to the category of Lie algebra crossed modules is the canonical assignment associating to any Lie algebra crossed module its corresponding unique 2-term differential graded Lie algebra. This shows that Lie-Leibniz triples form natural generalizations of Lie algebra crossed modules and that their associated tensor hierarchies can be considered as some kind of ‘lie-ization’ of the former. We deem the present construction of such tensor hierarchies clearer and more straightforward than previous derivations. In previous studies on plasma-particle interaction, as far as we know, the rf plasma flow and temperature fields are all simulated
by the non-self-consistent one-dimensional electromagnetic (1-D EM) field model. In the present paper, the complete self-consistent
two-dimensional electromagnetic (2-D EM) field model incorporating the axial Lorentz force component, which is neglected in
the 1-D model, is firstly adopted to calculate the aluminium particle trajectory and thermal history in atmospheric rf Ar
plasma with the particle evaporation effect included. The crucial effect of reverse flow within the coil region on the particle
trajectory is discovered and the results show that the 2-D EM field model must be adopted instead of the 1-D model when the
plasma-particle interaction is studied. The effect of carrier gas flux on the particle movement and heating are also studied,
resulting in some useful conclusions for both plasma theory and application.

In this paper, the higher-order asymptotic solution to the Cauchy problem of a nonlinear wave equation is found by using a
computer algebra-perturbation method. The secular terms in the solution from straightforward expansions are eliminated with
the straining of characteristic, coordinates and the use of the renormalization technique, and the four-term uniformly valid
solution is obtained with the symbolic computation by using a computer algebra system. The comparison of the derived asymptotic
solution and the numerical solution shows that they coincide with each other for smaller ε and agree quite well for larger
ε (e. g., ε=0.25)

The mechanical behavior of rock under uniaxial tensile loading is different from that of rock under compressive loads. A micromechanics-based model was proposed for mesoscopic heterogeneous brittle rock undergoing irreversible changes of their microscopic structures due to microcrack growth. The complete stress-strain relation including linear elasticity, nonlinear hardening, rapid stress drop and strain softening was obtained. The influence of all microcracks with different sizes and orientations were introduced into the constitutive relation by using the probability density function describing the distribution of orientations and the probability density function describing the distribution of sizes. The influence of Weibull distribution describing the distribution of orientations and Rayleigh function describing the distribution of sizes on the constitutive relation were researched. Theoretical predictions have shown to be consistent with the experimental results. 相似文献

近年来发展的无网格方法大多采用移动员小二乘法来构造试函数,而应用移动最小二乘法形成的方程组有时会是病态的甚至奇异的,从而限制了它的发展和应用。本文采用带权正交函数作为基函数对移动最小二乘法做了改进,避免出现病态方程组,且在计算过程中不需要进行短阵求逆运算,提高了计算速度。之后,借鉴牛顿法、平衡法和摄动法对由移动最小二乘法得到的非线性代数方程组提出了新的求解方法。 相似文献
